High School Summer Programs - The American University offers College CreditEarn up to 3 College Credits The National Student Leadership Conference has a unique partnership with American University to offer college credits for our high school summer programs. The American University is distinguished as a premier global university and known for turning “ideas into action and action into service.” As a result of this NSLC/AU alliance, students attending the NSLC's high school summer programs have the opportunity to earn college credit from American University. This credit option enhances your education within the framework of your program experience, without interrupting NSLC activities. ![]() AU Credit-bearing Courses The AU credit-bearing courses are designed to relate to your NSLC program, allowing you to pursue areas of interest from a variety of disciplines, including government, international studies, business, communication, and the sciences. Taught by AU faculty, students explore relevant and engaging topics in an innovative, encouraging, and personalized learning environment. Earning College Credit Through a High School Summer Program Participants in our high school summer programs advance their preparation for college academics by undertaking the challenge of college-level study with a university professor in this specially tailored arrangement. Earning college credit from American University will add value to your college and job applications. Transferable Credit AU credit is transferable to most accredited colleges and universities. In recognition of the scholastic aptitude and leadership merit of students selected for the NSLC, this credit is offered at a reduced tuition rate of $650 for one credit, $1300 for two credits and $1950 for three credits.
