The National Student Leadership Conference has a unique partnership with American University, distinguished as a premier global university and known for turning “ideas into action and action into service.” As a result of this NSLC/AU alliance, students attending the NSLC have the opportunity to earn college credit from American University. This credit option enhances your education within the framework of your program experience, without interrupting NSLC activities.

The AU credit-bearing courses are designed to relate to your NSLC program, allowing you to pursue areas of interest from a variety of disciplines, including government, international studies, business, communication, and the sciences. Taught by AU faculty, students explore relevant and engaging topics in an innovative, encouraging, and personalized learning environment. Student leaders advance their preparation for college academics by undertaking the challenge of college-level study with a university professor in this specially tailored arrangement. Earning college credit from American University will add value to your college and job applications. AU credit is transferable to most accredited colleges and universities. In recognition of the scholastic aptitude and leadership merit of students selected for the NSLC, this credit is offered at a reduced tuition rate of $600 for one credit, $1200 for two credits and $1600 for three credits.
