The NSLC seeks outstanding high school students from around the world who demonstrate academic excellence and leadership ability.
Step #1: Nomination & Selection: Students are selected by NSLC and Intrax to attend through Counselor Nominations, Alumni Nominations, talent identification programs, and merit applications.
Step #2: Enrollment Application. You should complete an NSLC/Intrax Enrollment Application. Due to the special logistical arrangements required for international s tudy programs, applicants must print and complete a paper application and return it with a deposit check to Intrax Study Abroad, 600 California Street, Floor 10, San Francisco, CA 94108. A $600 tuition deposit should be included with your application. If you are accepted to the program, this deposit will be applied to your tuition. If your application is not accepted, or if you are placed on a wait list and not eventually accepted to a program, your $600 tuition deposit will be refunded to you.
NSLC/Intrax Study Abroad Application
Please Note: In order to secure space with our logistical partners, all applications must be received by Intrax no later than May 1st, 2008.
Step #3: Interview for High School Study Abroad
Within 2-3 weeks of receiving your complete application, Intrax will call to arrange a phone interview. It will take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete the interview. During the interview, Intrax will discuss the program and your interest in studying abroad. The interview is a great time to ask any questions you might have about your summer program.
The interview will enable NSLC and Intrax to gain a better understanding of your personality, expectations and goals for your Study Abroad program.
Step #4: Acceptance and Pre-Departure Preparation
Once you are accepted into the NSLC/Intrax Study Abroad program, we will provide you with the information you need to be prepared for your cultural, academic, and leadership exploration! You will receive information on Switzerland and France, access to the enrolled student section of both the NSLC and IntraxStudyAbroad.com websites, a student handbook, an extensive pre-departure orientation, and departure assistance. Once you arrive in Geneva, you will have the additional support of an Intrax On-Site Coordinator as well as NSLC staff.
Students will be departing for Genvea on a group flight from Newark International Airport in Newark, NJ on the first day of the program. While transportation from your hometown to Newark International Airport is not included in the tuition, Intrax can provide assistance in booking specially-priced add-on fares in conjunction with the group flight.
Pre-Departure Orientation to Study Abroad
Two to four weeks before your departure, you and your parents will participate in a comprehensive pre-departure orientation. Typically the orientation will be conducted over the phone and will cover topics such as adapting to a new culture, NSLC career exploration and leadership development, and logistics for your program.
Step #5: Attend the NSLC/Intrax Program: That’s it. Once you have completed your forms and your tuition is paid in full, you can look forward to an amazing experience.

For this reason, Intrax offers several High School scholarships with the support of our partners. We also encourage students to help pay for their Study Abroad program by fundraising a portion of their program fees.
