With a focus on aerospace, biotechnology and robotics, students will spend time building, experimenting, and learning the impact science has on society. Hands‐on activities are designed to help future engineers explore the educational paths open to them in high school, college, and beyond. Trips may include: NASA Goddard Flight Center, National Building Museum and the Smithsonian Institution.

Our STEM program for middle school students uses an interactive approach to learning that gives you an opportunity to explore the world of engineering.
NSLC students in our Engineering program participate in the following hands-on simulations:

- Engineering: Magnet Motors/Mouse-Trap Car
- Chemical: Make Your Own Lactose Milk
- Chemical: Exploring Polymers
An important part of the NSLC middle school programs is seeing the sites around our nation’s capital. These trips are designed as both sightseeing tours and educational trips specifically tailored to explore the field of engineering.
Students are escorted on all field trips and stay within their TA Group or other supervised groups.

At the heart of each of our youth leadership programs is a curriculum designed to build concrete leadership skills that will help you succeed. Interactive lectures and small-group workshops will give you an opportunity to build upon your strengths and minimize your weaknesses.

Your NSLC tuition is all-inclusive. Your tuition covers course materials, housing, on-campus meals, social events and transportation throughout your program.
