Students will assume the role of a doctor and learn to take vital signs and a patient’s history during a patient care simulation. Hands‐on workshops allow students to try their hand at suturing, emergency first aid and intubation. Trips may include: the American Red Cross, Museum of Health and Medicine, the National Zoo and the Smithsonian Institution.

Our Medicine & Health Care program for middle school students uses an interactive approach to learning that gives you an opportunity to explore the world of medicine.
NSLC students in our middle school Medicine & Health program participate in the following hands-on simulations:

An important part of the NSLC middle school programs is seeing the sites around our nation’s capital. These trips are designed as both sightseeing tours and educational trips specifically tailored to explore the field of medicine.
Students are escorted on all field trips and stay within their TA Group or other supervised groups.
