The National Student Leadership Conference (NSLC) is committed to providing our world-class summer enrichment programs in an environment that supports the health and well-being of all participants, while taking every appropriate action to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
With over 30 years of experience in providing summer programming, the NSLC is well-prepared to make the necessary adjustments to our programming to adhere to the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), our university partners, and local health authorities.
The NSLC did not hold its summer programs in 2020 out of an abundance of caution, but is already working towards a successful summer in 2021. The NSLC will continue to monitor the situation related to COVID-19, along with the evolving public health guidelines and best practices related to hosting events and residential 2021 summer programs.
The COVID-19 pandemic and public health guidelines are evolving on a daily basis. The NSLC is continuously monitoring the situation in preparation for the summer. The NSLC will communicate any updates or changes to our programs to enrolled students as quickly as possible. Final policies and procedures related to COVID-19 will be made available at least 30 days prior to the start of each summer session on your myNSLC page.
The NSLC, along with our university partners, will take every appropriate measure to provide students with a safe environment to learn and experience life on a college campus. Specific housing protocols and arrangements (housing students in single rooms, doubles, or suites, for example) will be set by location in conjunction with our university partners. All specific housing information will be updated on students’ myNSLC page as soon as it becomes available.
New commuter options have been created to give families flexibility.
Your NSLC program includes many trips, tours and site visits throughout your destination city. We will continuously monitor the availability of such trips along with the safety procedures related to group visits and make changes to our programming as required.
We are mindful of the challenges caused by COVID-19. For that reason, as we did in 2020, we have relaxed our cancellation deadlines for 2021 to ensure that enrolled students will not forfeit deposits in the wake of uncertain times. Students may cancel their registrations for any reason by May 1, 2021 and receive a full refund. If at any time, NSLC closes a program, students may choose to receive a full refund or pre-register for 2022. Click here to review our full Cancellation and Refund Policy.
