Announcing the NSLC Community Service Project Fund

At the NSLC, we believe leaders are powerful agents for change. That’s why we’re excited to announce the creation of a special fund to provide students with seed money for service projects in their communities. Grants from the fund are available to NHS, NJHS, and National Student Council chapters.

Community Service Project Fund FAQs

Who may apply for the grant?

All National Honor Society, National Junior Honor Society, and National Student Council affiliates, both domestic and international, are eligible to apply for this grant. Each affiliate should only submit one application per calendar year.

What sort of projects are eligible for the grant?

The sky’s the limit in terms of your project. The NSLC and NHS both believe in the value of setting lofty goals and encourage you to pursue projects that will create the greatest good for your community. The project should be local enough that your chapter members can participate in the implementation of the initiative.

What is the range of dollar amounts available for each grant?

Awards will range from $500 to $2500 and will be awarded based on the merit of the application. We encourage chapters to apply for only what they need to complete the project so that as many awards as possible can be distributed.

Can we apply for partial funds?

Yes, if you have a large project and plan to request funds from multiple sources, you can request an amount that does not cover your entire anticipated project.

When are applications due and when are awards distributed?
